I started work on my O.Y.W gundam, after having burnt out on my GM and Zaku for now. The Gundam is my first airbrushing job, and I used Gunship gray, I filled in what seamlines I saw, this was also another first for me. I'll post pics of the shield in a bit.

based on shuttle launches, the humany body tends to grow an inch or two due to less pressure on the spine, so the body tends to stretch

I got some progress in, I shortened the snot, and sanded down the cable connectors on the face, now, I just hafta seal the seams, and smooth the snot since it's still kinda rough.

Painting/Priming / Formula 409 and Stripping Models
« on: February 23, 2006, 10:20:53 PM »
for paint stripping I use Greased Lightning Engine degreaser and cleaner. That stuff strips anything, I've stripped enamel paints, autmotive paint to a degree, and even krylon fusion, even though it left an interesting etching in the plastic, but I think that was more from the krylon. I've read that this will melt top most layer of skin, so I always wear gloves. I let most models soak for about a week, either because it's strong paint, or I'm too lazy to take it out, but all it takes is some scrubbing and voila.

oh yea, it disolves putty too.

a gallon costs like 5 bucks

yea, I know that I've gotten rid of some valuable parts of the models... it's just that I appreaciate the realisticness of the original series, I just want to do something zany, or just odd, if you were to know the real me, as in hang out with me for jsut a week, you'd see what I mean, I am essiently a very odd person, and I want my Zaku to reflect that, as for the GM, I was looking at it, and I might just carve my own details into that wide open area. THank you for the feedback.

I also plan to do some work on the Zaku head.

Hi everyone, just wanted to show you some in-prog pics of two of my models, MG Zaku II and MG GM.

Well, first up is the Zaku II, It's the OYW vesion, which really isn't very different from the original Zaku II, well, the most major change is that I have removed the cables from the Zaku, I just didn't like them, that, and I broke one of the rod for the head, this is the first time that I am attempting to remove seamlines, the only parts that I haven't worked the seamlines are are the legs and head. I've also puttied up the holes for the thrusters on the legs of the zaku, along with the holes for the cables to go into. Here are my pics.

And as for my GM, I replaced the lower legs with those of the GM Kai, I puttied up the chest vents, and I added the lower thrusters from the GP-01 ground type, to the GM's left hand, as vulcan guns.
here are my pics

My dad recently started work on a R/C 1:9 M1A2 Abrams tank, and right now he is currently in the middle of post shading, the tank originaly came in a flat tan color, for desert combat, but my dad decided to take it apart in order to paint it, sorry I don't have pics of the unpainted tank, but I didn't have my card reader at the time. well here the pics of the current prog
