May I ask why?
Pruning will only result in questions that already have been answered,
since they cannot be found by search..

Some diorama's do exist that big though!

In the Netherlands we have a large park called Madurodam,
and it's basically one huge diorama, with a lot of things moving.

Sadly the machine only outputs the designs you bought from quickutz themselves..
If you read this you'll see it only uses the designs you bought, or a truetype font.. :[ Anyone know of any machines that do cut whatever you want them to?

Read Quickutz's FAQ page. The link you posted is a vendor site so of course they want to sell you the pre-made stuff.

Quote
What types of things can I cut?

        * QuicKutz Digital Designs
          - 50 are included with the Silhouette software
          - Download additional designs through the software
        * TrueType Fonts (.ttf extension)
        * Images that you create*
        * Clip-art and other images not restricted by copyright
        * .GSD files
        * .GST files
        * DXF loaded images

    *in Silhouette software or other compatible graphic program

Thanks, and sorry for my ignorance :]

Sorry I was running out the door when I typed that. The machines are the Craft Robo, which is the European/Japanese release and the US version is the Quickutz Silhouette. If you do a YouTube search the Craft Robo brings up more results.

http://www.graphteccorp.com/craftrobo/about.html
http://www.quickutz.com/index.asp?Show=silhouette&selProduct=Silhouette&FSCat=225&CartId=

My wife saw it at a trade show before it was released in the US and based on her description I was already interested. It'll do anything up to cardstock so yes, you'd be able to do stencils, stickers, adhesive patterns, masks, you name it. The cutting head can be replaced with a pen and engraving tip, and probably other things. The only problem is the $350-ish price tag.

My daughter likes building those paper models that you can download. The demo I saw, the guy made a cutting pattern for one of those models, and cut the pattern out of sticker paper after printing the model onto it. To assemble, you simply peel it off and stick the seams together. No glue or scissors needed. Too easy!
Sadly the machine only outputs the designs you bought from quickutz themselves..

Model In-Progress / Keämpfer... Tetra!?
« on: January 09, 2007, 07:52:06 AM »
Update time! I've finally gotten a new camera, so I can take some good pictures from now on. ^^

This is the look at the moment, the chest is still left untouched, but I plan to change it quite a bit, same goes for the crotch. I tried to give the legs a bit more of a slim look by changing the feet.

The arm (Hard to see in the blurry picture, my apoligies.) has been changed quite a lot, but I'm not happy yet.
Mostly not because of the two cricle parts where the joints are.

And the head and shoulder. ^^

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / gundam wing kits 'beam' parts
« on: December 16, 2006, 03:04:28 PM »
I don't get it, why are you suddenly mad at me?
I don't understand what's not clear about my question, I clearly stated it was about the green transparent pieces, not about bare plastic or recreating a beam saber from scratch, I friendly explained it to you and asked for unlocking,
So what is wrong?

I was wondering, is there any way how I can make the green-transparent beam parts that come with the 1/100 Wing kits look any good? I like the detailing on them, and the shape, but besides that they look crud. Did anyone ever tried something?

For those sick of the hands that came with the kampfer:
Try the HGUC Palace Athene hands, they are exactly the right size.

As first research, I watched the series. (Which quite dissapointed me, actually. It had some good bits, but it didn't really catch me overall.)
However, before this, the Kampfer kit didn't really strike me as a hit-and-run type, more as in a get-in, and destroy as much as you can type. So, my first idea is to change the kampfer as it is, and make look a lot faster, make it slim, and maybe making it a space-use MS instead.
(Random question: What I assumed from the series was that the Kampfer was supposed to escape with pilot through the colony wall hole that was created, into space. Does that mean the Kampfer *IS* in fact already a space-equipped MS?)
As for colours, I'll just take something I like ^-^;

And as for modding... I was looking through other kits I had, and there were quite some similarities between the Gerbera Tetra body, and the kampfer's. So I started playing around with both.

*Sorry for the picture quality, when I have something drastic to show, I shall make better photographs. What you see here is the Kampfer, snapped, with Tetra shoulder pads (Put on backward) and a gerbera head.)

Wasn't planning on entering, but I went to this toy-convention yesterday... and there was a Mg Kampfer up for sale. I paid way too much for it, but that gives even more reasons to enter and do my best <3 Count me in!
