holy crap what a monster.

I'd be tempted to build a scaled-up 1:100 display base, just to mess with the eyes.

Superb, man! The different green tones really work here, and the military drab with the high gloss black and white. I see some great subtle panel shading too!

Grade-A weathering, man.

LOVE the Orange fade on the shield, and glad to see another matte-red/gloss-black Sinanju. Welcome to the club! Not that the gloss or metallic red Sinanjus are bad, I just think the above look is perfect for the MS.

Nice job with the shading! Your paint is great. I'm not 100% on the subject matter, maybe a dot filter would have snazzed it up? It's just so slabby!

Anyway, great job!

I'd like to see that scheme on a Flag-based MS, think it'd be more fitting, but I can't deny that looks good.

This is your first try?

Excellent work man! Nice shading on the red, and great work with the mono-eye.

Great looking GMcannon. all the little details really add up. Great job!

Is that shoulder cannon a cut-down 1/144 Rick Dom beam zook? Sneaky!

Looks great! great armor texture, good colors, the only thing I would say about it is I'd like to see some more markings/decals as it looks a bit stark otherwise. I may just be a sucker for .ka type markings though. XD

Bonus props for the M4-style telescoping stock on the zaku machinegun. Where did you get that?

I <3 eggplanes. Thanks for posting!

I generally combat pebbly metallics with wet-sending and lots and lots of future.

Good looking paint, I would go ahead and add a darker tone to it, the two-tone isn't quite busy enough for what I think is the look you're going for. (The Seaquest/Vorlon organic skin look)

as for the rough finish, wetsand, more future, wetsand, more future, wetsand, wetsand, wetsand, polish. Use 4000 grit and work your way down to 12000, just like the model car guys.

way to go, and welcome! That's a really good first 78-2-ka. I don't need to echo what's already been said.

The shading on your white probably doesn't come out in the photos just because your settings aren't exactly right for either taking your photo or adjusting it in image software. White balance can be a bitch sometimes.

Hah. Good one.

See you went for a more brass-color with the trim. Looks good, if different.

Instead of filling the wrist seams you made them look like they're supposed to be there. nice. ;)

The paint job with the color patterns and the extra panel lines really turned out well here.

Also you really made the stock thruster bells look good. I didn't even think that was POSSIBLE.

Of course your dio base is amazing.

Model Gallery / MS-06R-1N Zaku II Cerebus Psycommu Testbed for Newtype
« on: November 07, 2009, 08:47:18 PM »
Zeonic Corporation's test for wired particle-gun bits along with an enhanced reactor (the same model used in the YMS-14 Gelgoog prototype) to allow full use of particle beam weapons. Acceleration over the standard MS-06R-1A model was said to be "significant". Along with being a testbed for wired remote weapons, this Zaku also has the capability to use a 400mm Mega Particle Beam Bazooka, with targeting upgrades (and additional triangulation from sensors placed on the remote bits) to let it engage strategic targets from extreme range. It is known to have survived the One Year War, and has been seen in-use by a former Zeon ace, who has further modified it with a triple-triple 35mm gatling and larger heat-hawk, Identical to those used by several MS-07 Gouf variants.

Nearly there. Just need to paint a few details, put on the decals, and that's it! And I'd better have it done by tomorrow, cause I'm moving in 3 days. T.T

What paint and thinner did you use on the ABS parts?  Really wanting to paint my sinanju, but with how many horror stories I've heard about the brittle abs (I think mostly comes from Mr Color?) I'm holding off til I can get some concrete answers as to the cause.

rattlecan tamiya silver leaf over my usual duplicolor automotive primer. (at least I'm almost sure I primed first... HMM.) Anyway, not using that again! It's fine for body parts, but not anything structural.

It's hard trying to finish a commission project when you've got a cross-country move coming up in 12 days.

I mentioned (or meant to mention) last episode that the small cables for the backs of the legs went walkabout. Luckily, I've got some small snake cable.

Pretty good! A little cable armor and..

Nothing more exciting today. I've got the cable attachment for the beam bazooka fabbed up, and I'm still working on the mounts for the attack bits.Got some misc painting of small thruster nozzles done.

AAaaand I'm running into even more problems with brittle ABS from the spraypainted frame. This sucks. Basically every stressed silver part on this thingis coming apart. The replacement bits from bandai probably won't be here before I move, which means they'll likely never get used.

Got a bit of my motivation back, we'll see if it holds! I managed to lose the remains of the PC tree with the small leg cables. Dammit. I guess I'll fab new cables out of the smaller snake chain, so it's all good I think.

I swapped out the bit gun barrels for ones cut off some spare 08 MS Team beam rifles. This was a good move.

Cut aluminum tube for the gun barrels of the triple-triple 45mm gatling. Dremel burr to crown the barrels. they'll look better after paint!

Bits blu-tacked into place. I still need to build their racks and control wire spool.

ta till next time!

Nice!  I wonder if silver or even red would have worked better in place of the gold trim though.

A shame the eye is so invisible.

Shoulder seams are a bitch, aren't they? :D

In all a really good looking kit, it wouldn't be hurting with a few accent colors though just to break up those huge fields of yellow.
