Model Talk / Model Database
« on: November 16, 2006, 12:19:56 PM »
Hello!  Does anyone have any idea where I can go to find a printable database of bandai's gundam models?  Things like the model number number of runners ,name, etc.

Dalong.net has a good database of the MG releases, but i can't seem to be able to find a text only printable version for any of the HG or HGUC releases...

By the way this is not a life or death situation, so if there are no such websites, don't worry too much about it, as I can probably type up one of my own if I really need to.

Thanks!

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / sanding angles
« on: November 10, 2006, 09:54:05 AM »
How do you guys go about doing this? I'm talking about where a seam was glued and it happes to be on an angle and requires sanding.  Even when i'm using sanding sticks i cannot seem to get a sharp angle out of it.  To remedy this i have been using small metal files, but as you know they are very course.  I also tried to use an x-acto knife to cut out the angle but i am looking for a better way to do this.

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / Using a heat gun for scratchbuilding
« on: September 11, 2006, 07:59:33 AM »
I searched the forum for this topic and it is probably there somewhere, but i couldn't find it.

Is a heat gun of good use when scratchbuilding?  I would think it would be when you are in need of rounded parts for a model.  You could make a mould out of clay, and wrap the styrene around the mould using the heat gun to soften it.  There would also be great control because you can control how far away the gun is to the piece.  Just thought i would pass this along, but i'm sure someone has thought of this before...right?
