Model In-Progress / SMS 1/35 Nu Gundam Bust
« on: August 08, 2011, 09:18:51 PM »
Another Bust!

Finally putting up a WIP of this, not much in the way of pictures yet as still doing a bit of clean up and prep to ready it for painting, but I thought I'd start a WIP as they tend to spur me on a bit.  :P

Painted with Plamo Colour again of course, not sure about the colours yet but I'm thinking about using these as the main colours:

Bright Red (chin piece and area under the eyes as well as various small details, and the unicorn base)

Golden Yellow (v-fin and some small details)

White with a small tint of purple (courtesy of mtomczek's 1/72 Nu-Gundam)

Dark grey with a small hint of purple again.

I'm gonna try and have it done by the end of this weekend, but I know how that turned out with my last kit.  :P

Model Gallery / 1/35 Freedom Bust

So I've finally finished this...  :P

I'm really happy with how it turned out, but I did get a bit lazy with some parts, and it's my first time using more than just a few decals and using decal solution too.

Model In-Progress / SMS 1/35 Freedom Gundam Bust
« on: June 02, 2011, 05:09:53 PM »
Last week, I finally received my SMS Workshop 1/35 Freedom Gundam bust, and I've been working on it since!

This is a ridiculously nice kit, a very clean cast apart from a few shallow panel lines but I've already rescribed most of them.

This is my favourite kit already :D.

I've used magnets for the most part rather than pinning) it comes with two amber LEDs for the eyes and forehead, and an RGB LED for the chest cockpit.

The orange Lucozade (the best drink ever) is just for scale.  B-)

Got some of the red parts painted up:

The last image looks a little odd because of how the light is hitting it, once I hit it with a satin topcoat it'll look much better.

Oh, and the grey part on the chest piece isn't going to be grey, that's just primer.

Model In-Progress / MG Crossbone Gundam
« on: June 18, 2010, 05:03:04 PM »
Hey everyone! I'm doing a quick build of a MG Crossbone Gundam, I'm aiming for 3 to 4 days from snapping together to finishing completely, and I'm painting it with my own brand of model paints (being discussed in this thread http://fichtenfoo.net/forum/index.php?topic=5711.0 ).

I finished snapping it together earlier on today, and now I've moved on to the priming and puttying stage. I've got about 80% of it primed, I'm done for the day, so when I come back to it tomorrow, the primer will have cured enough for me to sand it down.

Snapped together (I really didn't like doing the arms on this kit, they were so fiddly!)

5 minutes after priming with my Plamo Colour Grey Surface Primer. It's dried enough after 5 mins to withstand handing without scratching or picking up finger prints. I also thinned the primer with Mr. Colour Lacquer thinner too.

I've rescribed most of the panel lines as well to help with panel lining once I'm finished, something I'm kinda obsessed with now  but I think it definitely sharpens up a lot of the detail.

Long time lurker, small time poster  shameless advertisement, I know! But I think some of you guys might be interested.

I've decided to start up a a business selling my own-brand lacquer based paints, because of the difficulty in sourcing Mr. Color and other brand lacquer paints (especially since the Japanese Shipping ban).

My range of paints are called "Plamo Colour" and I aim to cater specifically to the likes of Gundam and other Mech modelling, I will have a range of paints coloured for Gundam kits specifically, as well as colour packs for different kits.

That's not to say they won't be suitable for any other types of modelling projects of course, and I will be offering paints that are colour matched to real world car colours too, as well as colours catering to Aviation and Armour modellers and custom mixed upon request colours too.

My paints are lacquer based, so are compatible with Mr. Color range of paints and accessories, and can be thinned with Mr. Colour thinner, and Mr. Retarder works with them just fine too.

My paints come in 60ml bottles, and require thinning to around a 50/50 ratio of paint to thinner.

Currently, I have two colours for sale ( :( ) but I am adding new colours all the time, and within a week I should have an additional 20-30 colours, including a range of clear colours, primers and additives.

For those that are interested, you can find my paints listed on ebay, the listings can be found on my website: www.plamo.co.uk, or you can contact me at mail@plamo.co.uk for email orders.

I will deliver internationally of course! Contact me for international delivery quotes.

The current contents of the website is only temporary and will be expanded into a full online store in good time.

A quick few pictures of how the paints look.

Hi, this is my current project, im doing a wing ka, but i think the legs lack detail for a mastergrade kit, so ive added some extra pannel lines around the leg areas
