Model In-Progress / PG Strike conversion - ASTRAY RED FRAME
« on: April 15, 2007, 07:39:54 PM »
Here's what I'm currently working on, (among other things that is slowly progressing)

It's a PG Strike conversion to an ASTRAY RED FRAME.

Decided to start on the head using the head parts of an SD Astray.

Just to give you an idea...the head of an SD (IMHO for an SD Astray) is a bit off from that of a 1/60 scale.
Some mods on it is required to get to a 1/60 proportion.

Head Mods:

-Gluing the front part and the backpart of the SD head, then slicing it right in the middle, then sanding off about 2.5mm on both parts to lessen the head width.

-Slicing the V-fin in half and sanding it for a more sleek, sharp look, then gluing it back together at an angle.

-Sanding (Dremelled) away the off-scale detail of the back of the head, and gluing a styrene sheet on it, sanding it around to achieved the shape and profile...then totally building the scaled details back on to it.

-Casting the PG Strike Face (might do the head instead) then rework to get the look of the ASTRAY face.

That's all about it for now...and hopefully I finish this as well as the other projects that I have started...to say the least....work is hell, and I'm doing this only on my free time...which is rare. sad.gif

Concepts / Looking for BeeCrafts Lineart - Astray RF and Buster
« on: January 25, 2007, 10:16:23 PM »
Hi guys...need some help here.

Can anyone here provide some linearts (or links) on Beecrafts rendition of the Astray Red Frame and Buster.
I have the one from PG Strike's construction manual, but i need views like the rear and some other details.

I saw some Astray inearts on an earlier post by Funaka - http://fichtenfoo.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2054

Are these BeeCraft because they're different from the one in the PG strike's manual.

Thanks in advance.  :)

Model In-Progress / More WCZ conversion - Deathscythe HC and V2 Assault
« on: December 13, 2006, 06:16:51 PM »
Took a long break from gunpla --- tons of work and the arrival of a new angel ==> http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/NaomiLiv.jpg

But I was able to start some more conversion projects using the PG WCZ.
The God Gundam/WCZ project is on hold, but this two are my current after-office-work
activity.

CONVERSION DETAILS

On the DHC, I'm planning to make additional details that would deviate from the
original design of the DHC, I'm taking my measurement/dimensions from the 1/100 HG kit and the GFF Crossbone X3 .This would include a different "bat wing" design --- more similar to the Crossbone X3's wings - http://www.ebay.com.my/viItem?ItemId=150063682089

On the V2, Im planning to convert it to V2 ASSAULT version --- right now I'm working on custom fitting the parts from the HG V2 1/60 -- and then work my way up to make the ASSAULT version.

Hopefully I may be able to make considerable progress this coming Holiday vacation :)

Model In-Progress / 1/60 God Gundam - PG WCZ Conversion
« on: August 27, 2006, 09:32:38 PM »
Been working on this one for quite some time now --- was really motivated by the awesome works of people on this forum.

I had the idea of custom fitting the God Gundam parts over a PG WCZ since I notice that the WCZ's frame seems perfect in mimicking the God Gundam when its doing its kung-fu-wushu poses.

The following photos are just some test fits and progress shots -

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/38bf8f95.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/Picture017-2.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/Picture018-1.jpg

Here I did some mods on the hips and crotch area of the WCZ to be able to fit the armour of the God Gundam.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/Picture028-2.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/Picture023.jpg

I will be extending the mid-section using styrene to conceal the waist internals.

Mods and test fitting of the on leg and knee armour.

Action photos -

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/Picture021-1.jpg

Some mod challenges:

1. Fitting the WCZ internal arm/shoulder assembly into the God Gundams upper torso -- so it will be able to extend its arms forward. This will difficult - since it will mean altering
most of the God Gundam's upper torso internals - affecting the cavity for its machine cannons on its shoulder as well as the cavity where the core lander docks in.

2. On the WCZ forearm - fitting the God Gundams arm claws so it will still be able to pivot  forward when its in hyper mode.

3. This one might be the most difficult of this project - figuring out how to incorporate the leg thruster assembly (hypermode) into the WCZ's leg frame.

Hopefully I would be able to make this one worthy of this forums amazing works.  Would appreciate some inputs/comments as well as some suggestions for the challenges stated above. Thanks. :D

Model Gallery / Greetings from Mechaneil - plus model images
« on: February 03, 2006, 10:07:17 PM »
Hello to everyone....mechaneil here...just signed up 2 days  ago and now i'm posting some images of my works..... :)

This one is my entry during BAKAC 2005 regionals in the Philippines.  It's a modified HGEX 1/60 G Gundam. Did some scratchbuilding (the sword and scabbard), kitbashing ( the twin scythe and backpack) and semi-scratch/kitbashed (bow and leg mounted arrow quiver ).  Hope you guys like it. Thanks in advance for the comments.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/100_0843.jpg

This one is my entry in one of the national competitions in the Phillippines last 2005.
It's a hybrid Voltes V, built from 2 kits ( a PG RX78-2 and anothe HGEX G Gundam 1/60).
Added some parts from other models particurly for the head/face, the tank threads, and the feets. This is my first ever attempt in painting/modifying a model kit,(so please excuse the not so nice paint job)  and also a first in joining a competition, and as luck would have it...it bagged the 3rd place...

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/voltes-2.jpg

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/mechaneil/voltes-3.jpg

Consequently... I just arrived 2 weeks ago here in the US (Sta. Maria, Calif) from the Philippines...and I am not yet familiar with the area...do anyone near my place know a good hobby store selling gundam kits and modelling supplies.  Would really appreciate the heads up.  Thanks. :D
