Model Gallery / MG MSN-06S Sinanju
« on: June 10, 2009, 03:13:55 PM »
This guy has lot of decal. Fortunately, the gold parts are easier than I thought. No need to be an expert, but just time consuming.

Any comment will be welcome.

Model Gallery / XXXG-01W Gundam Wing
« on: April 15, 2007, 05:19:12 PM »
Finished it two weeks ago but I had no time to take pictures because I needed to study for my final exams. Anyways, that kit has nothing special, the color scheme is slightly different then the original color scheme. That color scheme is coming from the Gundam W Endless Waltz Film Comics book (http://jonkokyan.tripod.com/pictures/wing.html). I just modifed the arms a little so that it can hold the shield on the side and the rifle's magazines on the back. I also modified the rifle a little bit. The color scheme of the base is very similar to the one that Orange made because I copy off from him. Thanks to Orange that he let me copy his. Here are the pictures. Comments will be welcome. Model Gallery / Mg Griffon Flight Type
« on: August 30, 2006, 09:42:20 AM »
Nothing special, just painted it. I feel that paint and non paint do not have a big different. But for sure, it is better than not painting it. I fixed the major seam lines on the arms and the legs.
Comments will be welcome.

I just started to build the MG Griffon. How can I remove the seam and flash on the Vinyl Joint Covers? I read the in progress thread of FF's Griffon. FF said that he uses a solder iron to remove it. Is it possible to give me some more information of how to use the solder iron to remove those seams and flash? Another problem that I am facing is that the wings of the griffon is too heavy and the joint that connect the wings and the back is very loose. How can I solve this problem?
Thank you very much

Model Gallery / VF-1S Strike Valkyrie
« on: May 27, 2006, 08:48:23 AM »
This is my first Hasegawa kit. I feel that this kit is very hard to build compare to bandai's kits. The progress of this kit was painful. I almost wanted to give up. I needed to glue the tiny parts in place, and they are easy to fall off. The decals are killing me, there were so many decals, and it took me lot of time. The final assembly was hard. It requires glue to assemble the kit, whereas Bandai's kits do not need to. Sometime the glue squeezes out. During the final assembly, I accidentally slipped out the glue brush, and glue on the kit. Becasue of that, I need to spray FFB on that area. I was lucky that it looks not as bad as I thought after I sprayed the FFB. I feel that use glue for final assembly is danger, becasue disaster might happen. I did not paint the pilot because it is too small, and I do not have the talent to use a brush to paint it. Anyways, there are the pictures of my VF-1S Strike Valkyrie.
Any comments will be welcome.

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / Flash on a transparent parts
« on: April 16, 2006, 06:33:06 PM »
There is a flash on the middle of this Transparent part. How can I take it off? If I sand it, it will scratch. Anyone knows how to deal with it?
Thank You

Model Gallery / MG Freedom Gundam
« on: April 14, 2006, 07:03:34 PM »
This is a MG Freedom that I built. From the last three pictures they show that I lost a part which connect the cockpit and the cover. It doesn't matter becasue I don't open it, I used a sticky-tack to stick the cover.
I used wash for all the panel lines, but I don't feel that it is good. I just don't have the talent of using a brush. Maybe I should try to use Koh-i-noor Rapidograph Technical pen for the panel lines. I searched on ebay for that pen, but there are many of them, and I don't know which one to buy, Anyone can tell me excatly which one I should buy?
Just a quick question for FF, for most of your gundam models, you used a flat coat. Is it 30% FB and 70 FFA? What percentage of FB and FFA you used for your strike gundam?
Any comments will be welcome.

Model Gallery / GP 01
« on: March 21, 2006, 10:17:43 AM »
It is a GP 01 that I built. It is good that I took pictures right after I built the Core Fighter. During the final assembly, there are many scratches on the Core Figter, and I broke two of the wings. I did not paint the upper part of the beam saber (the light part), any suggestion about how to paint it, and makes it looks cool? Positive or negative comments will be welcome.

Finishes, Decals, and Weathering / Decals Questions (Ask them here!)
« on: November 09, 2005, 04:19:24 PM »
I have trouble to put decals on the kit.
Quote
Now hold onto and submerge the decal into warm water until it loosens from the backing

What happen to me is that the decals never loosens from the backing (not peel off). Usually, how long the decals have to be into the warm water before it start to loosen? I put the decals into warm water until the warm water gets cool. However, the decals still stick with the transparent plastic sheet (backing). What should I do, is there anything I did wrong?
