Assembly/Scratchbuilding / recycling plastic trees
« on: July 24, 2006, 08:47:40 AM »
Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to melt down the plastic trees, the ones that hold the model pieces, so that I could use it for parts casting instead of resin.

Model In-Progress / Low-visiblity RX-78-2 O.Y.W
« on: March 27, 2006, 09:51:05 PM »
I started work on my O.Y.W gundam, after having burnt out on my GM and Zaku for now. The Gundam is my first airbrushing job, and I used Gunship gray, I filled in what seamlines I saw, this was also another first for me. I'll post pics of the shield in a bit.

Model In-Progress / My current projects
« on: February 23, 2006, 04:38:42 PM »
Hi everyone, just wanted to show you some in-prog pics of two of my models, MG Zaku II and MG GM.

Well, first up is the Zaku II, It's the OYW vesion, which really isn't very different from the original Zaku II, well, the most major change is that I have removed the cables from the Zaku, I just didn't like them, that, and I broke one of the rod for the head, this is the first time that I am attempting to remove seamlines, the only parts that I haven't worked the seamlines are are the legs and head. I've also puttied up the holes for the thrusters on the legs of the zaku, along with the holes for the cables to go into. Here are my pics.

And as for my GM, I replaced the lower legs with those of the GM Kai, I puttied up the chest vents, and I added the lower thrusters from the GP-01 ground type, to the GM's left hand, as vulcan guns.

« on: January 28, 2006, 10:56:27 PM »
My dad recently started work on a R/C 1:9 M1A2 Abrams tank, and right now he is currently in the middle of post shading, the tank originaly came in a flat tan color, for desert combat, but my dad decided to take it apart in order to paint it, sorry I don't have pics of the unpainted tank, but I didn't have my card reader at the time. well here the pics of the current prog

Painting/Priming / Engine Degreaser and Paint Stripping
« on: January 10, 2006, 01:08:55 PM »
Hi, I hope I posted this in the right forum, if not sorry. I purchased some engine cleaner/degreaser, and I was wondering how long does the stuff last? I recently stripped my Guncannon and I was wondering if the remains of the cleaner where still usable for another model. This is how the cleaner looks after.

Model In-Progress / Mobile Suit Gundam: Artic Fox
« on: September 26, 2005, 10:34:18 AM »
Hey everyone, I currently have an idea for a gundam photo comic, and I've started work on some of the models that will be involved. The comic will take place in the artic, so most shots will be shot in the winter if I can get a ride to the moutains. The first model that I am working on is the OYW Gelgoog, What I've done so far is to cut the double beam saber in half. What I plan to do is to change the wrist things which look like a vent of some sort into a vulcan gun, or if that doesn't work, make the arm things into a beam saber holster somehow, any suggestions will be appreciated. Another model and mod that I'm working on is replacing the puny cannons on the MG Guncannon, with the cannons from the Zoids Command Wolf, I'm thinking of attaching that to the guncannon with a sprue which is drilled through the two red walls that the cannon is housed in.

I'll post pics when I can.

Hi, I've been modeling for about maybe over six years now, I started with GW models, and those were all OB builds, but recently I started to really try to get a professional look on my models, I've been mostly handbrushing, but I wanna get into airbrrushing, I have an Aztex airbrush, and I was wondering, how do you thin enamels? Should I use a paint thinner, because I use an ethanol thinner to clean my brushes. Also, I was wondering, when you airbrush, do you mask the internals and spray the whole kit, or do you take it apart and do each piece on it's own, because I'm planning to add some mods that might make that hard. Sorry, if I sound like a total noob, but some of these tutorials seem kinda hard, or weird and hard to follow. I've been a HUGE fan of Fichten Foo since I first started modeling, and he is an inspiration to me. Well, I think that's it for now, oh, wait, one more thing, how do you apply a fractal pattern camo?
