Haven't posted in a while, nor havent worked on any of my models in the last month or so...

...heres the story:
My finished MG Xbone...that i slaved a few weeks over, after sitting on my desk for a month got ruined. TURNS OUT...that FFA reacts badly with heat. I kept it close to my drafting lamp since i finished. And when i decided to dust it off, i realized the FFA began spotting, yes there are now white spots where it should be clean. Just to warn you guys, dont keep any FFA'ed models near any form of heat  >.<

Anyways, is there any way to strip my FFA with alcohol or something? And to not ruin the paint below? The paint below was acrylic btw

Wow, the cutouts are a great touch. I agree with Foo, the exposed yellow frame contrasts nicely with the grey and blue tones. I also really like the addition of the shells to the chain.

I have an  MG Shark Ball in box that im definetly going to go with a darker gray shading, but dont worry im not gonna take ur scheme

The detailing with the seperated parts is awesome, definetly gives the model a more life like feel.

Overall the kit looks amazing, nothing i can really complain about. The finish looks so solid. Awesome work, and Welcome!

Wow, just wow. I could barely concieve the fact that the entire model was scratch built, but now with some paint on it...it looks absolutely amazing. The level of detail is amazing. You should be EXTREMELY proud of your work!!

Looks good to me! From a modeling perspective, i couldn't note any issues with it...the only thing that struck me as strange...and this might just be me....is the fact that she is im guessing unsheathing her dagger/knife but the sheath isnt attached anywhere heh, wouldn't it just fall? ( )

Something i really liked was the fact that the suit was given a dull scheme and wasnt overly highlighted. That gives it a very realistic look to the suit, which IMO contrasts well with the bolder colors of the head and collar.

One question though, was the eye done freehand? or did you do some sort of masking?

Overall IMO a very nice and crisp looking model. Well done, and very realistic overall. I like seeing planes on here done because my dad does alot of em. Actually this one brings back a bit of nostalgia because the first kit i think i ever built was a hornet when i was about 8 or so.

Wow so much detail! This is great, im fairly new to modeling, and for now im sticking to pretty much only plastic models, but when and if i decide to start doing Resin, ill for sure come back and reference this.

If you are making relatively small ones, im guessing it wouldnt be too hard to make yourself if you have the right tools. You can always find old shelving and such at garage sales, adding the sheeting doesnt seem to be too hard, im considering doing this in the future when i move into my apartment or maybe seeing if Scoundrel88 (my future) roommate wants to invest in a good glass case.

Something ive noticed is that when i get rid of seams, and there is a panel line that crosses over it like on your legs, ive always had a problem getting that panel line back together very well. What did you use? Xacto? Scribing?

To be honest, i can barely see any issues really with the model...

...and what blew me away the most was the entire concept. The execution of the mods and they way they contrast with the coloring give the model such a dynamic and life size appeal. The mods look so cool, i loved the integration of dual gats and under that swords like bayonets.

If you don't mind, i have an MK II Titans MG V2.0 that i would really enjoying going with the same scheme. I liked the scheme that much . So if its ok with you, id like to use urs as a reference

Em k, im gonna have to jump the gun and just apply it on top of the other coat, im sure it wont be too bad of a result even if it clouds a bit. I just dont want the second coat to end up making all the coats too thick in general.

Did it work? Post your results for all to see/learn from.

Ok, so heres the breakdown of what i did. I orignally FFA'ed using a brush (un mixed and unthinned) my model so that i could wash/panel line and decal. I then mixed a mixture of roughly 25% Tamiya Flat Base and FFA to make a Flat FFA. I applied that to the model using a brush, and the end result was a nice flat finish, not too cloudy or thick. The only thing was that the flat finish tended to get paint rub off much easier, but with little posing, that shouldnt be a problem.

Nice Crossbone Gundam, it looks great, it does not look like it is a brush painted model.

So, did you have any problems with the brush strokes showing up?

if not, now did you hide the brush strokes after the paint dried?

I tried my best to hide the strokes, in some spots it was more visible than others, but after a 2nd coat, and the 2 coats of clear, the few strokes visible were covered.

Haha, don't be . I definetly look at all your work and ur articles. Hell, if it werent for you i wouldnt have even clear coated this model . 75% of the techniques i learned were from your website. The FF is one of my biggest influences

And when i look at it, the pose is extremely similar :shock: , heh

Yeah there were some very slight issues with the flat, liek on the shoulder and top right shoulder which i went over today.

A good friend of mine . We worked on our models pretty much simultaneously, helped since we shared ideas/techs.

I think good overall, although i still say you should try inking the face and the head again.

Thanks for your comments! I'm glad you both liked it. :)

The daggers are just for show (I probably won't ever pose the kit with them), so I didn't particularly care what color I used on the blades. Gold is a bit weird, but think of it like a fancy watch I guess...

Yeah i personally didn't even bother with the daggers, or the chain thing that attaches at the skirt, i even forgot to insert the handles into the back of the legs 0.0
