Hi all,

Been a long time since I've been around these parts. Unfortunately, due to a somewhat forced downsizing effort, I am having to give up on a lot of models that I had originally had plans for, but have never gotten around to finishing up. :(

Pete

(now that it's over I can reply to all the winners... wanted to avoid that before judging)

Nice work TC. The camo looks very nice as do the mods. The only negative for me is the zimmerit. It looks a little too chunkily applied. Smaller Z more subtly applied would be better IMO. But it's still a great biece. Love the flag. Congrats!

Thanks for the comments. The zimmerit was a really experimental thing, and while the style I used works for 1/35 in retrospect it really doesn't with 1/100. I got a zimmerit applicator roller for Christmas that I'm going to toy with, in the hope that I'll be able to do a much more subtle application. We'll see how things work out. :)

Thanks once again!

Doubt you'll learn much from me - I'm still a relative novice!

However - Denham! That's a location I can do! Roadtrip, Mike?

If only I hadn't sold my bergan. That would make such a jolly so much easier. *sigh*

Certainly doable. We should arrange some sort of meet-up or something and do stuff :D

It was very fun - can't wait til the next mecha Kontest!

As an aside from dip, will the group placings (i.e. the judgement on which models will be judged in which group) be announced before the final judging?

The current idea I have for mine is to continue the long-running theme I have of the Gundam/WW2 crossover. Winter diorama, speeding hovertruck loaded with tired and tooled up Panzer Grenadiers in the back as they continue the retreat for the final defence of Odessa, passing by a half-track and 20mm anti-aircraft emplacement. Lots of possibilities for weathering and other unpleasantness, and I'm thinking of also including some form of burnt out car covered in Polish graffiti. :D

Should be a fun diorama to build. Lots of scope for the crossover.

The pack on the back is a fluid condenser, used to take evaporated fluids from within the machine and make it back into fluids, so they can be reused to keep it cool. The pipes run from the waist, unite behind it, and run into the condenser, before going back in :)

I guess the jeep is from Zeon (it looks like at least) and the Type-61 is a Feddy tank. I think they will come separately.

I think the jeep comes with a figure of Steiner from 0080. Not sure what's up with the uniform if it is, though.

Considering we've also got the HHHH running concurrently... what do you think the end time will be on all three?

I don't see the logic of group buy for the hover truck, we'd have to pay for shipping twice.  R10 has a really good price for it, I'd just go and order my own.

Fair cop. I'll look to ordering one and joining in. Might tap-up my HK and Nippon connections to try and get myself a good deal. :)
