Great subject and masterfully painted (should we expect less from you?). I really like her expression, something so vivid is rare to see in figures.
ohh and masterfully photographed as well!

It looks great. Did you use any finish after the scarabeus alclad?

One of the best paint jobs I've seen so far!

thanks for your comments.
Here is an update. I have to work on the metallic parts now..

Model In-Progress / 1/100 Vai-o-la
« on: October 16, 2007, 04:37:28 AM »
After a long hiatus due to my moving, I started this resin kit of the Vai-O-la, a quite obscure MH from the Five Star Stories. It has to be ready for Lucca contest ( So let's go..
Here is the first dry fit test. Some piece required major efforts in cleaning and pin holes filling with super glue and baby powder. In the pictures the torso is quite unbalanced and leans backwards, this is of corse corrected when all the pieces are firmly glued.

Here is the first problem, the huge backpack (actually more a cape), had a major gap with the torso block:

Following some suggestions I used Milliput to solve the problem. I'm not quite good with that stuff so..
Then I added rivets. They are of two kinds, Adler's Nest brass ones (a true nightmare) and onether kind in alluminum (the screws). I run out of proper Mechaskunk screws so I had to replace them with what I had. I prefer Mechaskunk stuff so next time...I'll order more just in case.

Here is the mecha watching Mr Color jars in parade:

Gloss black to prepare for metal colors, it looks just like a roach of a strange kind:

Further painting progresses:
This is actually a lavender, the camera doesn't show the reds properly apparently:

Shoulders and skirts in dark yellow mixed with white, they all have to be shaded:

The underskirts will be in metal finish, :

My main problem now is how to make that dark yellow more appealing, I need to add shades, any suggestion for a good mix with it? Is white only ok?

They seem to be clear parts. However the model you see on top of the page is a custom (based on the OYW ver) and not the original release. It has indeed  quite large chest:

the mock up of the production one looks different, I like the design, quite Virtual On-like. Let's see

thanks for posting it, it's really a huge and nice kit, I have it and I was surprised to see that virtually only parts of the legs and hand are sued for the model, which is almost complete.
Looking forward for new updates

Model Talk / Re: Upcoming Resin Kits - Gundam and Otherwise
« on: September 17, 2007, 02:35:57 AM »
I'm a fan of Yukikaze designs, so I was really happy to browse around and find these two multimedia kits:

Platz already released the Mawe, the Supersylph and the tiny Fand, all excellent resin kits. The fusalage and wings are in resin, while the undercarriage is in metal. photoetched parts are also included for the landing gear doors. The only shortcoming is the lack of cockpit detail.

Model of the Month/Year / Re: July 2007 Model of the Month!

Awesome Filmy! This figure is really well done, i love the colors, the eyes are very expressive and most of all as we open the forum we will have a very interesting view in the MotM banner!!

too bad the T-34 is missing in transfer. I have my tiger here in UK, at the moment I'm waiting to move from my residence room to a real apartment. That will happen in August, after that I can possibly paint. I foresee to finish this thing for october. But I'm still up for it!

I like everything of this conversion actually and I would be certainly interested in a group buy.
Maybe only the torso with the air intakes looks a little bit overdone

I'm in!
Go Feisar!

I guess the jeep is from Zeon (it looks like at least) and the Type-61 is a Feddy tank. I think they will come separately.

Big Disappointment is an understatment...
here is Turn Ugly:

Actually the two Turn-A displayed were not the actual MG but two models appeared on HJ and DH as U-Recca said, so I still hope it's a joke

A new Rx-78 would have been more acceptable

I've no comments any of our guesses was far better than the ugly reality..  but maybe it's just a joke...

Model In-Progress / Re: M2A1 GRASSHOPPERS 1/35 KONDO

Except for the seam you left on the Grasshoper shoulder and the f*** decal on the same model, the diorama looks quite good to me.

Let's say that NuT-34 looks original at least.
On my side I'm packing as the moving date is in one week and the project is on hold until I arrive in UK. It's a small kit so I can fit it in my compressed suitcase and it will be my first british project.

I like the splinter on the nutrocker!
