After a long hiatus due to my moving, I started this resin kit of the Vai-O-la, a quite obscure MH from the Five Star Stories. It has to be ready for Lucca contest (
www.contest.nkg.it). So let's go..
Here is the first dry fit test. Some piece required major efforts in cleaning and pin holes filling with super glue and baby powder. In the pictures the torso is quite unbalanced and leans backwards, this is of corse corrected when all the pieces are firmly glued.

Here is the first problem, the huge backpack (actually more a cape), had a major gap with the torso block:

Following some suggestions I used Milliput to solve the problem. I'm not quite good with that stuff so..
Then I added rivets. They are of two kinds, Adler's Nest brass ones (a true nightmare) and onether kind in alluminum (the screws). I run out of proper Mechaskunk screws so I had to replace them with what I had. I prefer Mechaskunk stuff so next time...I'll order more just in case.

Here is the mecha watching Mr Color jars in parade:

Gloss black to prepare for metal colors, it looks just like a roach of a strange kind:

Further painting progresses:
This is actually a lavender, the camera doesn't show the reds properly apparently:

Shoulders and skirts in dark yellow mixed with white, they all have to be shaded:

The underskirts will be in metal finish, :

My main problem now is how to make that dark yellow more appealing, I need to add shades, any suggestion for a good mix with it? Is white only ok?
