I got some mr hobby white putty. I heard you can thin it with 91% alcohol and sorta paint it on to fill seams any truth to this?

I was thinking of getting this rotary tool from harbor freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/80-piece-rotary-tool-kit-97626.html#pr-header-97626) to grind and sand down kits. Do you think this will work for that? Thanks.

I'm about to start painting my MG GN-X kit and I wanted to do this elephant print from the Jordan III shoes (http://www.fashionaddictdirect.com/images/products/nike-air-jordan-elephant-print-cargo-shorts_1046175.jpg) on the 4 boosters that go diagonally away from the body. Anyone know how I'd go about doing that? Also is there a way to change the clear purple parts to a different color? Thanks.
