Ok, more progress,

The kit is nearly fully painted (still missing some gunmetal, its on the way) And now on the way to be clearcoated.

I'm ordering decals from Mechaskunk today and will weather and dullcoat it afterwards.

I still have yet to perfect the V-fin and have learned I am better off sticking a needle in my eye than a knife on plastic.
Any tips or hints for that kinda peice would be helpful.

How do you use your spray cans?
Spraying too close to the model, or spraying too many layers at once/not leaving enough time for each layer to dry might cause the bubbles.
It is a nice blue.

I know I love it.

Well I know the original testors paint that I was using just bubbled, I tried it on like 50 different test things and it always did the same thing. I think all that really happend is I over sprayed.

It definitely seems more fickle than the kustom kolor paints, or the primer. Those things you could practically soak a peice in and it would still come out fabulous.

So im just gonna sand down the peices that didnt come out right and go at it again, hopefully this time with better results.
Right now I'm looking for another place that sells the KK paints, cause I love there gunmetal but I'm out now and still need to paint a number of peices.

C'est la vie.

Your photos are terrible, though :D

The blue is a rustoloeium spray can spray, while I dont like using them, I love the primer they have and I decided to take a gamble and try using there blue as well (I like this color blue). Sadly I had less than stellar results.

I also have to scratch build a new V-fin as I seem to have lost mine in the two years its been in storage. If anyone has done that before advice would be helpful, I've searched it and didn't see any results sadly.

Ok so long time no updates! (I think a year or so is a long time... anyway) After finally graudating school I decided that I would finish a project this project. lately I've been painting and priming like mad and here are some of my results.

Here is a more or less in progress shot of the internals of the suit:

For the paints I used Kustom Kolor series as they were the only sprays that were readily available without having to pay 20 bucks in shipping charges (miami has a horrible hobby supply area.)

Here is another shot partially primed. I'm still deciding on alot of things with the kit, such as a few panel lines but so far the overall look I'm liking.

And lastly here is the core with a nice blue coat to it. For some reason I havent had any luck with blue, and it keeps producing airbubbles when I spray, I've gone through both testors and rustoleium, and they both do the same thing (rusty to a much lesser extent)

Overall progress 60%
Still left,
top coat

hmm, the only problem I have with that is Id like to keep them as two seperate peices, adn well, im absolutely no good with scuplting with milliput yet. I will definatly think about it however.

For some reason that PG head, when I look at it I always go, "Baseball!"

Well, its taken me forever just to get this far on the kit, I still have alot of seem lines to cover, and lots more putty to sand before I can even prime it!

But I figure I'd show the work ive done so far on the kit. Its pretty much OOB with the exeption of a few things.

I still need to:
Mod the gun
Sand down the most of the skirt armor
do something with the shoulder armor
Mod the knee armor
Mod the feet to look like KA feet

The list is trickling down, but I still have a long way to go, anyway, here are pics.

As always, give comments and critiques, PLEASE

Its not against your skills, I like the damage that youve done.

Well I dont think it would be impossible to use the FO, you can make an extra panel specifically for it if you cant fit it in to the front of the model I imagine, without much trouble.

Or, you could use small LED lights with low power so they wouldnt be terribly overbearing. I suggest that because I personally have no idea of how to get ahold of FO lines.

Another part is since its going to be a sphere cockpit , I imagine its going to need a base? the batteries could definatly be placed there and the wiring worked through the model.

I definatly like where your going with this, can't wait to see what you have when done.
