Updates:

Decided to use the extra shield parts from Mega Shiki as the new shpulder shield on the Ahead. I have added a policap on the pack of it increased in pla-plate mount

The back of the shield... you can see the policap casing and that the underneth will house one of the original Katanas

New shield vs old shield

Overall look on the MS:

Another cool project!  :-)

Not familiar with the model but it looks interesting, cant wait to see all your mods, love the sound of the mane
the model is from Gundam 00 Series, season 2. All the mods that are done for now are in their incipient stages just bits and bits of what is to come... more and more work needs to be done on this MS but i enjoy every moment of it :D

Updates:
-I have mode the crest (wakidate i believe it called), from the back to the front of the head. the original pegs were cut because they wouldn't fit , but i fitted the crest via pla-plate: i have cut a groove in both the crest and the head piece. the final result is more close to a traditional samurai helmet design - my opinion - i might be wrong

-Playing around with knee designs... only difference is reversed pads... and i've gone with the B configuration

-I found this on the web and i want to replicate the mane on the Ahead using unprocessed sheep wool

-For easy painting i have cut the knee articulation in order to fit then without dismantling the upper legs. the policap is left on the upper legs and fits with a little push, thus retaining its functionality. the legs articulation is undamaged, but now is paint-able without dismantling needed

thnak you for your time... any Comments and critiques are most welcomed

Model In-Progress / Mr Bushido Ahead
« on: October 27, 2015, 10:43:41 AM »
I'm working on a custom version of Mr. Bushido's Ahead:
first i have cut new holes to accommodate new vents on the sides of the chest:

then i have modded in the same way on the upper legs:

the overall look:

and lately i am modding the lower legs to show the shins and add vents:

1. mark the distances for scribing with masking tape
2. scribe pe line using ingraver, line scriber (in my case 0.1 mm tamiya engraver)
3. cut away

Some sort of antigrav racer sounds good to me. Look up Hunter Rose's recent antigrav kitbash in the model gallery for some inspiration :)

Who are antgrav racers?
i think he is refering to the anti gravity racers, somefrom starwars some from industria mechanica http://industriamechanika.com/shop/land/30-the-t-zero.html

from the pictures you are spot on with the story: the legs seem to be from different damaged MS and the battle damage looks nice, can't wait to see the whole overall look of the zaku.
Nice job

after all was painted, yes i would glue the parts in place for the kit to be sturdy and not have any parts flying around

you need to mod the kit for easy assembly / dis-assembly , mods that allow u to take parts of without the need od taking apart you kit:

u need to cut either the grey parts to allow it to get free onto the white part.

these video might help you get the idea:

you might also search the web: https://www.google.ro/#q=mod+for+easy+painting+gunpla

Well i come this far... it's the first kit that i won't touch anymore because it's finished (my point of view   :sarcasm:  )
the kit is done with spray cans plus weathering done using an early stage of Phoon's  weathering technique (used on the astrea) using graphite from a pencil.
i'll let the pic speak to me  :shy:

C&C are most welcome    :run

bringing back to the top an old topic but i have to thank Ezechiel for the inspiration:

this is what i've done after "stealing" the idea of robo neko, and it has done what i wanted to do : my girlfriend said "YES", and soon it will be the "YES" in front of a priest.

Merci beaucoup mon ami  :number1 :number1 :number1

nice job, thanks for sharing the chipping method that u used for the edges of mech

Yep, already have the parts from MG strike for the back and shoulders.  What I was trying to figure out was the part on the forearms where the shield would go in.  On the PG the shoulder part slides back to reveal the hole where the shield would go on (and the rifle, with the adapter on the opposite side).
you can mod the shoulder pads and build some supports for them:

study the PG version and use it like a guide
