You could prime with your air brush that what I do now. I use Createx primer.

Not to derail too much but can you post a bit more about this createx primer (Where to get, how to use it etc)?

It looks like you took pictures with a cell phone.  All cell phone cameras take crappy pictures.

If you don't have a normal camera, ask to borrow a friends.  No matter how well you made the model, it won't matter if we can't actually see it that well in the picture.

Either my LHSs are Games Workshops, or are run by guys who just order off of HLJ and tack on a 50% fee.

I went ahead and bought some of the Tamiya Liquid Surface Primer (Even that took a call to more then seven stores to see if they had it in stock).  Their site says to dilute it with lacquer thinner to use it in my airbrush.

While doing research on this, a lot of people have come to the conclusion that you can't get Mr. Surfacer in the US anymore thanks to shipping regulations.  Anyone else know about this?

So besides GreatModels.com and hlj, where else online (Preferably in the US) can I buy Mr. Surfacer in a jar 1000, 1200 and Mr Leveling Filler?  GreatModels doesn't seem to have them in stock anymore, and I'd rather not wait for shipping from Japan.

So if I'm reading it right, the February issue of Dengeki Hobby (The one with the conversion parts for the HG Exia) came out in Japan on Christmas?

I have a friend who tells me that west coast Kinokuniya book stores get their copies just a few days after they come out in japan, yet when I call the store they tell me they have no idea when they're getting it.

When I first started modeling, I had one of those cheepo Testors airbrushes you can get at walmart.  I had also picked up some model masters paint because according to the bottle it was prethinned and ready for airbrushing.

It wasn't.  The paint went on super thick and gunky, and pretty much ruined the model (HGUC RX-79).  So that's my experience with them.

Ahhh!  You had to put them on sale after I just went shopping today ><  I even checked your site just before I left.

Oh well, it just means I'm having ramen for lunch for the next couple of weeks.  I went and bought most of them, and can't wait for gun 3 to go on sale.

How many extra gun 3's do you plan on getting in?  Will I be able to wait until after I pay my rent?

Everyone always screws up the first couple of models.

What kind of airbrush are you using, and what kind of paint/thinner are you using?  Tamiya paints should mix at about 50-50 or 60-40.

Do you plan on fixing the seams in your next model?  They really stand out in these pics, but unless you want to strip the paint and start over, you can't really do much about it now.

So I have a quick question about Tamiya basic putty.  I've been using it to fill gaps and holes, and I'm almost done sanding all the parts down and getting them ready for priming.  I'd like to give the parts a quick bath and scrub them with a tooth brush before I prime them though.  Will the puttied parts be okay in warm soapy water, or should I clean them differently?

Not sure... you'll just have to test it out. It's better to clean the parts before doing work though.

The parts were cleaned beforehand, I'm just anal about making sure any sort of dust or particle is gone from the surface before priming.

Looks like I'll try it with a sprue and find out myself.
