Title: Clear Resin Recommendations
Post by: FichtenFoo on February 14, 2007, 05:35:04 PM
Following my own advice I searched around these forums to no avail.

Do any of you have any experience with clear casting resins? I need to make a clear cast of the long engines on my FM Slave 1 so that I can light them as seen here in this build-up:

Have any of you worked with the following from TAP plastics?

Thanks guys!

I have worked with that second one from TAP and it works great. Used it to cast some headlights for my 1/5 scale car models I did in school. You really need a vacuum of some sort or a vibration table to get the bubbles out.

Speaking about vacume chambers, I was thinking of using an old blank CD case with a hole at the bottom for one.

I wanted to post it in a thread of common thinks that can in model and scratch building.
Like zip ties could be used as vents for thrusters.
