Topic title says it all. Make an offer if you have the pieces. I prefer and will pay more for unpainted pieces, assembled or not, does not matter.

Capitalism Corner* / Looking for MG God Gundam Pieces
« on: March 21, 2008, 09:56:54 PM »
Hello all, long time no see. I've been in college for the past...8 months? and it's been lots of fun ^_^. Engineering is really hard though, and so all my hobbies have fallen by the way side. But, I do get to build real robots, if anyone wants to see pictures :-)

In any case, I'm looking for a couple of parts for a MG god gundam. I'm looking for the internal frame pieces for the right arm and left foot. I can provide specific part numbers on request. I'll pay for the parts+shipping. PM me and we can negotiate prices.

Thanks a lot guys, I'm seeing some amazing new models on the site. Good job everyone ^^

Capitalism Corner* / I need a favor from someone in Japan
« on: February 11, 2008, 02:20:10 PM »
Hey guys, I'm looking for some pricing on either the Spacewarp 10000 roller coaster, or the Skyrail roller coaster kits. If anyone in Japan sees either of these while you're out, can you tell me some local prices? thanks a lot guys :-)

From the guy with the far out there ideas, comes...amazingly enough, another offbeat idea!

The basis of this idea comes from the song Master of Puppets, by Metallica, and the general feel of the song. Most of it is dark and definitivly metal, but the middle portion 3:35 to about 5 minutes, has a much lighter feel. I always have envisioned a battle between good and evil, light and dark. Basically, after seeing the knight Gyan that won a BAKUC, and thinking back about an evil mobile suit (I know Deathscythe isn't "evil", but the suit's design revolves around death and darkness, so it works ^^). I thought it may be a good idea to try out.

Basically, what I'm going to do, is I'm going to replicate the cover of the Master of puppets case.

without the Metallica at the top, as a diorama. It will not be to scale with the mobile suits normal sizes. The crosses will be either 3/4 as tall as the suits, or 1/4 as tall. I haven't quite decided yet. I'll be making it a display case, on top of which I'll screw in 10 rings, where the strings will all be bound. The deathscythe will also be tied, probably at the arms, head, and legs, because he is the "puppet". I plan to do some "evil" mods on the deathscythe, such as adding red LEDs for eyes, and using a Wing Zero frame for added poseability. I'm looking into the possibility of curving the white spike at the knee and the toe spikes, just to add to the whole darkness feel of him. If anyone else has any more ideas on how to make a deathscythe look darker, please tell me! I'll be using the standard color scheme, maybe changing the white pieces into black.

I have not bought my Gyan yet, but I will post ideas for him when I do. I have done some minor work on the Deathscythe so far, but really, not enough to warrant pictures. The main reason I created the thread was to ask for modification ideas on the deathscythe and get people's opinions on the idea as a whole. If people are dissastisfied, moderators, please feel free to lock the thread for the time being.

Model Gallery / Wing Zero/Strike Freedom Beunolas Skyward Variants
« on: February 04, 2007, 04:36:40 PM »
Hello all! First post of the new year, with actually decent stuff up this time. I've finished my wing zero with the long netmodeler style feathers, and I have finished my strike freedom, too. I made them "match" (similar color schemes) because it goes with my whole crazy mixed up universe (I was doing an RP involving gundam, and my friend was using the strike freedom, with I in the wing Zero. The matching is because they were twin mobile suits in the RP).

Oh, thing on the wings. Those who want to replicate these, PLEASE DO NOT USE SUPERGLUE THAT APPEARS WHEN YOU PAINT OVER IT. IT WILL SHOW UP. You will cry after the hours of work put into the feathers T_T.

Still, looks pretty good doesn't it? Still not up to par with the masters, but I'm improving ^^.

(Also, the Zero was my first attempt at waterslides, so there's some wrinkles. I hope to improve that when I go to do my Strike Freedom decals  :) )

As always I love critiques on the models, and I will try to improve on my next ones.

And, I again apologize for bad photography. I still haven't figured out how to work the camera, but when I have some "good" models (in contrast to you all) I will be sure to learn.

(Deleted excessive image tags, condensed into an album :D)

There you all go ^^

Model Talk / Does anyone have pictures of the gyan done up like a knight?

The topic says it all. I tried searching for it, but I couldn't find it. Sorry in advance if it's something easily found.

Model In-Progress / Wing Zero Net modeler wings style
« on: January 03, 2007, 08:01:28 AM »
Well, here we go. The first MG kit I ever did, which originally I only sanded and snapped, finally gets the treatment it deserves. basically, my plan for Zero is to modify the wings to resemble those of the Netmodelers

and to do a custom color scheme for it. I tested out making a gold frame based off of the gold highlights Erix93 did for his Crossbone gundam (fantastic work, by the way), in preperation for my strike freedom. Sorry for the poor quality of pics.

So far that all I've done. For the feathers, I plan to get a sheet of styrene, cut out the feathers at about 5/8ths of an inch in width, and 4-7 inches in length, depending on where the feathers are going to go. I'm going to reinforce the feathers with wire, so I can bend them for different poses.

If anyone has a better idea for the feathers, I would gladly appreciate hearing it  :)

My first ever WIP!

Ok, the idea for my Kampfer came to me last night while I was watching the Matrix Revolutions. I had been toying around with making my (soon to be ordered) Kampfer into a translation of the original word, meaning Fighter or Champion. I was going to do a knight style one, with Sandrock's swords put onto its back, a cape (Not sandrock's. A better one ^^) and weilding either the Grand Slam or a sword letter opener. Now, I was watching the Matrix Revolutions and saw the mechs all the guys were using...

I thought to myself how badass the guns would look in the hands of a Kampfer. I had also been playing around with a third idea of making a newtype Kampfer using the mines as Funnels. So, I thought to myself, why not do all three?! Being money strapped, I cannot possibly afford 3 Kampfers, what with college so I decided that I would take care of the modification criteria by making my Kampfer able to use different weapon packs depending on the situation.

Basically, my plan is to put the shotgun's into holders on the shins, much like the Ballute Pack

and be able to leave the back free for the pack to attach into the bazooka hardpoints, the shotgun rack, and other various points.

Basically, it's as I planned it out before. It's just going to be the shotguns placed into their holsters (this is a constant on each model) the heat shotels loaded into where the bazookas would normally go, over a cape (I may end up ditching this idea), and the Kampfer holding onto either the grand slam or another sword, placing it into the shotgun rack when in disuse.

Ok, my plan for this one is basically to take my H-Arm gatling guns and modify the guns to make them live ammo, and to make it so they'll actually fit onto the Kampfer's arms. Besides that, I'm thinking of a mod for the bazookas to basically act like the Guncannon's bazooka's, but I may ditch that depending on time and school.

Ok, this is the big one. I'm going to take the mines from the whip, and purchase two of the mine holders, if possible, to place onto the Kampfers back via extended rods to hold the racks behind the Kampfer. I will probably add an extra layer to hold the mines in place, now that they aren't connected by a cable, and maybe anchor them in with glue, or perhaps a metal rod. I will include my extra God Gundam Beam saber to be used as the main weapon beside the funnels.

As far as a color scheme goes, I was thinking something similar to the original, except accented by hard points of yellow. I don't know how to use a program outside of paint for image editing, but I'd be willing to check it out to upload a custom color scheme.

(Sorry for the lack of In-prog images for my Kamp. I don't have him yet. Basically, I made the thread to discuss my ideas and make it open for suggestions.)

I'm open to all suggestions on any part of it!

Model Talk / For your sake...
« on: November 15, 2006, 05:20:14 PM »
I would not recommend the MG F91.

I just finished mine today, after having 40 or so pieces break on me during construction. I use a light hand when piecing my gundams, and will break, at max, 1 or 2 per MG kit. So, unless you like patching, or have a VERY deep love of the F91, I suggest avoiding it...

Model Gallery / GP01 VS God Gundam
« on: October 01, 2006, 07:59:15 PM »
I originally intended for this to be a pair of battle damaged kits, but couldn't bring myself to damage either of them. A lot of God's paint got chipped, and I intentionally left it as natural wear and tear.

(I apologize for the non neutral background. I still don't have a proper workarea. That's what you get when you're 17 and still in your parent's house :-D)

(Also, I know about the tree bases. That's what you get when you don't plan ahead)

Model In-Progress / MG RX-93/ MG GP03S
« on: June 04, 2006, 08:43:27 PM »
The story behind this is that Anaheim electrons had a second GP03S in storage, that they brought out to assist their testing for the Nu Gundam's funnel systems. Londo bell seized the oppourtunity and purchased the GP03S and the dendrobium mobile armor as well. During shipment to the testing facility, the carrier with the prototype Nu gundam and the GP03S was attacked by Neo Zeonites a few minutes after launch from earth. The engines were severed on the carrier, and both of the suit's pilots jumped in them and abandoned ship. They fought off the remaining Jagd and Geara dogas, and both suits managed to land unscathed. However, the two suits are on a remote beachead in the south pacifice, with more zeonites on the way...

My dio in progress is of the GP03S and Nu gundam landing on the beach

Still needed to be done: Battle damage, decals, fix another four funnels around the central pillars, somehow cover the wire, shadowing

And also, my photo taking skills are less than stellar, so I am not showing a lot of detail on either of the suits because I wanted to keep both of them in all of the shots. When they're finished, will have more detail oriented pictures

See topic.

Kit Specifics / Real Scale freedom snapped in half
« on: March 29, 2006, 08:08:37 PM »
Well, the middle peg of my freedom broke. Boo hoo. I've tried glueing it, but the kit is really poorly designed to accomadate for the mass of the wings, and it snaps again. I was thinking of drilling some metal rods in and extending the lower body plastic to cover them. Has anyone done this with a gunpla non resin kit before?

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / Questions about custom parts
« on: February 13, 2006, 06:23:03 PM »
I was looking at the Strike, and I was wondering about a few things.

What is styrene, and where can I purchase it? How much does it usually run?

Also, what are BWS and ReGZ?

Dioramas / Beach Diorama question
« on: February 04, 2006, 11:11:29 AM »
Hello all. I'm a relativly new member to the site, but I've been modeling for quite a while. I bought the 1/60 freedom gundam a while back and have been working on it.

My problem is, that I don't know how to make the beach portion of my diorama. If any of you have tips, that'd be appreciated.
