So in your opinion would you recommend that brand of masking fluid relative to other brands out there?  
I been searching for a good brand but haven't found one yet that meets my expectation until I saw that brand you were using could be a winner.

What is the most common type of clamp you guys use to hold the glued pieces together that does not actually deform or crush the plastic?

As for gluing pieces together which work better, gluing both side before putting it together or gluing the seam after the pieces are snapped together?

Is it necessary to use a powerful cleaning agent rather than using regular dish soap?
I usually clean all my plastic model kit and some small resin with regular dish soap, and turns out okay.

I was wondering if anyone here has experimented with different layers of clear coats with different bases (lacquer or acrylic)...

...because i was thinking of FFA'ing a model, washing(enamel wash) and decal-ing, and then making the last coat a flat lacquer clear coat...

...anyone ever try this with sucess?

The best way is to find out for yourself by using some scraps plastics to test on. From my experience lacquer coat did not damage enamel paints. But you should test it first just to be safe.

When he applied the powder, did he just applied it directly without mixing the powder with some kind of solution or thinner?

Hi

What is the better quality brand for top coat?  Mr. Super Clear, Top Coat (gunze sangyo) (the one in a can or jar), or the FFA that most people use here and mixed with tamiya flat base?
I know that the FFA is cheaper and you can bulk of it. But I tend to go with the best products that money can buy. So is there a big difference?

i dont know if i want to get that one quite yet its pretty expensive do you think i can get away with buying one of those japanese books and following the images?

Yes. Buy the first 2. I think they are very helpful. You can understand the picture easily (assuming that you have some basic modeling skills).

Use some sort of (improvised) burnishing tool to press down the edges of the masking tape to the surface of the model. If you don't have an actual burnisher (is that what it's called?) you could use a toothpick, q-tip, and in some extreme cases, even a marble, lol.

Yea I think I will also use liquid masking for the middle large area in additions.

Masking tape/solution would work. Whether you want to airbrush or handbrush really depends on how much needs to be painted, the desired texture, and your skill with both methods. I find paint to be a matter of preference. My reccomendation would be a thicker paint for handbrushing (like un-thinned enamel) and a thinner paint for airbrushing (acryllic or thinned enamel/laquer).

If you wanted to get that type of finish that's shown in the picture, though, I'd recommend you first paint the white surface gloss black first. That really makes metallic colors stand out more. However, you can experiment with base colors to get the effect you desire. I remember Funaka did that with his Flaming Red Zeong.

Thanks for the tips. I think I will go with airbrush and masking tape solution & see how that turns out. The only thing that I hate about masking tape is that sometimes the paint went out of the edge when some of the tape is not fully attached to the piece.

Those books look pretty useful especially the ones on painting but do you know of any in english or where to get translations?...one more question, which book is the best for teaching airbrushing techniques (shading, weathering etc.)?

I just use paint brush to paint it.
My friend suggest me to try masking & AB,
but I'm lazy about it.  

So what size of brush and paint did you use for the lens? I'm guessing it must be a really small brush and a good paint.

FF guide on doing the lens is pretty good, but I would need like a 0.0001 mm pen to outline the black on the lens.
