Title: SD Zeong
Post by: Red Comet on May 31, 2011, 11:33:23 PM
Here is my latest, the SD Zeong!

A little bit of detailing done with a total of 15 LEDs installed (12 blue, 2 green and 1 red).

I'm not 100% happy with this one as the hands and arms aren't up to scratch for my standards. Still happy that I managed to get 15 working LEDs into an SD though! :D

The LED work is awesome, nice job!

These SD kits are tough..unless you plan on scratch building 90% of it (Like Ver. Ed), the proportions are usually a bit off.  I have a SD Johnny Raiden's Gelgoog that I'm sitting on.

Hah, I was watching the video of this on Youtube when I was at work earlier today.  Pretty nice.  Was kind of disappointed there were no LEDs in the thrusters, but still pretty neat.  Not too sure about the things connecting the arms, either.  What did you use?  I'm assuming it's something so you could have wire run through it, yes?

It is plastic tubing on the arms. It was the only way I could run wires to the LEDs in the wrist and still keep it firm. Overall, the idea was there but the arms and hands didn't turn out as good as I wanted. If I had run fiber optics from the body down the arm, there was a high risk of them breaking when the arms were bent.
