Title: MG Zaku F2
Post by: WhiteBase on May 18, 2008, 04:02:18 AM
Lately with the hectic life, seems like I've got not much mood to do any modelling. Each time I sit at my table, my mind totally goes blank, and its really tough to get any inspiration for my current builds. So I decided to take a break to do some OOB work. The model of choice, an MG Zaku F2 (yes... an MG finally). Here goes...

There will be no major mods on this one, and will keep it simple and mostly OOB. Will still be documenting some basic stuff and hopefully the WIP will be informative to some.

Simple yet very useful modification on the head, I'll try that on my F2! ^_^

Here's a small update. Amazing how slow I am doing this, even though it is supposed to be OOB. My 2 days of fever and flu did not help much either :(

Did some small adjustments to facilitate painting later.

I'm about 50% done on the parts, so hopefully it should be quite soon before surfacer and painting! as usual comments are welcome!

Today's small little update. did some cast iron effect on some selected areas, and added some small surface detailing to break the monotony.

The epoxy rod trick is pretty neat!

Thanks guys, glad you like it! Actually its an old technique which i've been using for quite some time already. Back when I first started out modelling, after market parts were not so easily available, so I had to come up with alternative / cheaper solutions.

Here's a long overdue update on the Zaku.

Unbelievable I'm taking so long for a supposedly OOB :(... the rest of the pics are here..

Nice Job on the simulating the wear and tear.  :-)

I like the progress you have made on the Zaku, it really is starting to look like a Zeon Remnant MS that has seen extended action, only to get patched up and sent back into action.

Love the texture.
Good idea to extend the stock spikes.
