Just a couple progress pics. I have been in work zone lately, and I took a bit to plan this step. I had to plan carefully since it's a small area to fit all the wiring necessary.
I am finally getting close to painting, which I can't wait to do. :twitch:  8)  Enjoy the pics.
Temp connections.Checking that we're all hooked up correctly before adding the rest of the fiber optic cabling.

Test 2. Ok,successful test, looks like we can move on.

A bit more detail on the bottom side and the paint! WHoo!

Woo! Looking good. Are you lighting up all the landing lights and such?

Thanks Michael! Glad you like.
Yes,I'm doing all the secondary lights with fiber. 18 main LED's total. 16 5mm flat top wide angle blues,1 super bright White, and 1 Red. (any other color variations,I'll color the tips like we talked about before). It's almost done. Just taking time. It's getting a little sketchy with so much wiring to sandwich in on such a small scale. I can't wait to seal it up and paint.
Also, I think I may be able to do the "wedge" trick on the grill too.  8)

Hey model junkies!
Had a bit of time for the Falcon. Here's the latest.
All sealed up and the side detail is finally complete. I cleaned up all the wiring inside and tested it again to be safe. (It all works,I will post the light show when I get some more assembled) The light was bleeding through the plastic, but after I did the cheap metal and black on the inside of the rest of the parts,(I mentioned this earlier I think?) it is now totally blocked.
I also added a little light shading to expose spots I needed to adjust or fix.

These images show the final light check and wiring harness cleanup, and the detailing modification process for the sides increasing through the turnaround image sequence. Almost through the bottom detail now. Then paint!!! WHooooo!!!
More pics and info here.  http://animoceans.com/?page_id=1356
Hope you like.

Added some subtle variations with paint before I sealed the falcon sandwich.  :D

About 60% of the final detail here.

Getting there..

Whoa! Where's the .. oh wait.. haven't put that in yet  :D

Getting there..

Looking done..

So next up,the bottom and maybe some paint?  ^_^
Cheers guys! Thanks for checkin it out!

Wow!
Very impressive! :D

Also, would that be a 1/144 Linebarrel in the first pic?

Yes. A 1/144 linebarrel. It's part of a sanity, clean build I'm trying to do next after doing so much detail all the time.  Unfortunately it's calling for detail mods and I'm resisting in order to keep it simple..
we'll see  :shifty:

Considering the size and the amount of stock details on this kit the work you did on is impressive.

Hey guys!
Been pretty slammed lately.Got back from a crazy trip, moving, work, etc. Good news is I can start doing my big kits soon now that I'll have a little more space.  :yeah:
OK, so I finished the bottom detail. Then I added another pass on the top to balance the 2 a bit. Ignore the tiny little stubs where the lights are. Those are the fiber strands that will be cut later.Sprayed a base grey and it's ready to start painting! Lot's more pics at the usual place http://animoceans.com/?page_id=1356
Enjoy these. I hope it's cool that I posted a bunch this time.  I had a few backed up with going away.

Added a lot of rear piping. Also some vents for venting action!

Another pass on the top half.

Radar dish temporarily fixed on.

Base paint. Bringing detail up to the turrets.

Seeing some raised detail cast shadow where there would have been just flat surfaces makes me feel like it's working better than the OOB.

Any questions are comments are cool. Thanks for checking out the wip!

Top ! your base coat is better than mine. The grey is lighter than mine. Will you follow Mike's painting Wip ? Now you will go fasater as you painting surface is smaller than mine.

No. I'll be doing a custom paint job. Some techniques are kind of universal,so there may be some similar weathering, but the paint scheme will not be like any other Falcon so far. Having said that,Fichtenfoo's kinda done it all. He's covered a lot of subjects perfectly,so I really don't know how I couldn't reference something he did with every project I do.  ^_^  Dammit...

Now you will go faster as you painting surface is smaller than mine.
 I wish! I think it may even go slower!  ^_^   I have a lot of intricate masking to do and I'll be painting super careful so,yeah, most likely you will beat me in our accidental Falcon build off  :D

Well it's not a race but I would like mine to be done on 15th. There is a model kit show in Paris and I want to diplay the falcon there.
Now I am curious to discover what you planed to do on yours. A aztec Patern ?

Hmm, that's cool. I didn't think about that. I have a plan already, but that could be a good concept idea  :shifty: hmmm..   :-)

Thanks Fichtenfoo! Hope you guys like the direction I take it next  :ninja:

Crikey, that's a lot of LED's in such a small space! :D  Very cool detail on this teeny Falcon, looks awesome.
