If your interested in it the comics and source book from the Dust shop are great loads of designs and descriptions. Theres also a magazine called master modelers with loads of scratch builds, conversions and dioramas. If anyone knows where theres some scans from that I would love to see them.

Great model looks cool so far, looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I bought the Gunther too aswell as the German Raketentruppen They are great models but I was a bit disapointed to find the optional gun missing. Aparently it was never intended to be part of this realise but will be part of the 2nd realise around xmas time.

I'm looking forward to more of the 1/35 Dust.

Model In-Progress / 1:35 patlabor dio
« on: May 29, 2006, 10:02:04 AM »
I've built 3 of the patlabor 1/35 kits and I used real fabric covers to replace all the vinyl bits. I bought some cheap action man clothes off e-bay, there a little big but i cut them down.

theres a few 1/12th figure kits out there (1/12th is a standard scale for cars) an F1 driver might be a good base the problem with a lot of these kits of the ones i've seen is they are cut off at the knee. I found this guy on e-bay he looks quite good too.

Also some modern action figures are about 1/12 too

hope that helps

Just thought I'd add, Hamster balls tend to come in two types, those which seperate in the middle (which the hamster always manages to escape from while your trying to line up the two halves) and one thats a whole ball with a removable bit (about 4 inches). You can also get bigger ones for Guinea Pigs and Ferrets. (we had a lot of pets growing up!!!)

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / Greebles are awesome!
« on: March 28, 2006, 01:08:17 AM »
I know i've talked about this before but thought i'dmention it again. I bought these cutters (see links) for cutting circles they are really acurate for size and can cut through just about anything you would need them too, just give them a whack with a hammer. I got mine cheaper off e-bay then from these links but the first ones min go from 5mm to 1.5 inches. the 2nd mine came with 2mm 3mm and 4mm circle heads. although they also come in other shapes such as square, triangle and hearts.
Simply hold the punch over the plastic (or whatever) and hit with a hammer then push the disc out of the hole.

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / Raised Lettering?
« on: August 15, 2005, 12:58:56 AM »
I bought some 1.5 mm letters from a model shop the other day they come on sprues and are made bySlater's plastikard. On each sprue you get about 4 of each letter and number. They also make them in many differant sizes.
