Truly an impressive piece of work. I think that the kicker about the legs is in the way they're colored. other than that, it's very nice, clean and detailed.

Model Talk / HGUC GM Striker Photo Review - Snap Fitting, no stickers
« on: December 19, 2006, 10:36:11 AM »

The GM Striker is really a kit variant of the Powered GM, but according to the design lineage, it's in between the GM Command and the Powered GM.  Parts-wise, it follows pretty much the same construction as the PGM, but with many simplified areas. Take note, all the extra detailing and armor are molded with the main body parts.

The weapon set seems to be based on the 08thMS set, with the exception of the scythe weapon. The scythe weapon can be angled at 90 degrees easily. The shield has these interesting claws that can partially extend. Unfortunately, the 08thMS-style gun's clip cannot be removed.

As seen in the last set of photos, the "family" resemblance to the Powered GM is obvious.

well, if it is a full-out Quel, we can expect to see a different backpack (Nt-1) and head, and probably a different weapon - I'd expect the saber to be the same. If it has extras, then having the Hazel backpack and the hazel II head shouldn't be a far stretch.

Model Talk / IPMS 2006 Philippines Winners (Gundam-themed, from Sci-Fi)

That's true, diorama ruling is always a fuzzy thing. As for the Sci-Fi division...only about twenty kits were entered, and due to some rules, were either in the figures division, or in the normal divisions (case in point, sci-fi kits with an actual full-scale version, like the Blue Thunder helicopter). IPMS Philippines is still figuring this out, I guess. Overall, the whole competition had I guess...about 100-150 kits.

As defined, the base had detail beyond being just a support base - hence, it's a diorama. IPMS Philippines defined that...

Here are the Winners for the IPMS 2006 contest, from the MP boys:

By Rommel "Shinobi" Zamora. MG F91 tableau. Take note...he's a handbrushing specialist.

By Jake De Guzman. "Ground Zero". Paired mecha, a modified MG RX-178 with a scout/attack Flyer unit.

Stand alone, Sci-Fi/Mecha/Anime Division:
By Mike Tan. HGUC 1/144 RX-78. Real type colors as basis for custom colors.

By Jake de Guzman. "Dingo" BUCUE (no-grade kit, not the HGGS version). most of the joints in the legs were worked on to be poseable.

By Rommel "Shinobi" Zamora. MG Crossbone Gundam. Again, note that he is a handbrush specialist.

Congrats to the MP boys!
Jake de Guzman, Mike Tan, Shinobi.
