Painting/Priming / can one drybrush a clear paint on to a chromed part
« on: January 22, 2008, 04:58:17 PM »
hey all

I just got the MG Destiny Gundam Extreme Blast Mode model and I got all these silvered replacement parts and i was hopping some one could help with a question
I can't airbrush as I'l at work and there is no place to do it so i thought of a light dry brush effects I'll be using model masters clear blue and or tamiyas clear blue.

my only problem would be can clear paint be drybrushed with any good results?
thanks clifton

Hey Ho
Long time guy's!
I have yet another question.
I just picked up some Clear Clay from HLJ and it's cool stuff but I was hopping one of you had played with it as well.
I'm mainly wondering about this pot of clear varnish it looks like(though it could be hardener?)

Model Talk / MG Zaku II Ver 2.0 KICKS A$$
« on: June 11, 2007, 12:49:53 AM »
hey guys
I just wanted toi put my two cents in aboiut the new zaku MG !
This thing is the most amazing build I have ever had from a MG kit and I've just done the inner frame. I'm so stoked about the outer armor. I cna't say enought good thing about this kit!
I'll take pics and what not, and post them
This thing is the greatest so far!!!
Hopefully the Turn A will match the level of coolness this kit has.
EDIT: No need to create a new thread, topic merged.

hello all !
my hobby store sells nothing but testors and model master acryl paint.
and the best thing to thin acryls with is believe it or not is original windex!!!!!
the blue stuff. you can also use windshield washer fluid(thought I know windex is the best)
the blue dye will not interfere with the paints color(i know hard to believe too)
but true!!!!
try it out and see!!

sorry for the no picture but Have a fit problem with the bottom abdomen armor (white part) for the Strike freedom-full burn. it seems the rail they have on the armor are to short to fit in the core frame
I have sanded down the support structure on the inside of the armor but it's still come up short.
but I was wondering if anyone had this issue as well and if there was a way to fix it.
now before you ask I do have the parts in the right way I even reversed the core body part to see it they were wrong but no dice.

Model Talk / Name this action frame
« on: February 21, 2007, 10:49:39 PM »
these figures are not made to be played with on a contant basis.
more of the pose a month type figures.
but the super glue on the ball joint trick workd wonders.
i have the entire line some good, some bad but all great looking

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / odd queston ona molding/casting agent
« on: December 24, 2006, 12:40:12 AM »
hey guy's
well a question was posed to me on casting and or molding

would there be a substance out there that can be molded that will shrick unformly to be casted again
I guess it the oposite of the hydor casting agent that grows in water.
also this is not for modleing but for heavy duty use metals and such.
thanks clifton

Kit Specifics / quick question on the Crystal Ver RX-78-2
« on: December 07, 2006, 10:48:29 AM »
hey guy's
this is a lame question and I think i may have jumped the gun on this
but I aquired the RX78-2 crystal version gundam thih the idea that i was going to do an inner frame paint job and have the clear armor over it
now the question
I also have a rx78-2 version 1.5 on order and i was hopping someone could tell me if they are compatable?
as i do not have the kit in my crazy little fingers yet.
Or did I spent the money on the wrong kit and have to get the not so good first gen RX-78 MG kit
CAll me all the names you want. it's a bad question I know, I just need someone else to tell me what i may already know

Model In-Progress / 1/100 MG Plan 303E Deep Striker (long progress)
« on: November 03, 2006, 01:47:16 AM »
this may be a little late but has anyone thought about using the Dendrobium  as a platform for a DS
I think i would be the 144 scale  it would be good as a base as well as the parts namely the cannon and the I-feild as well as the main engins.
my two cents
also much respect druid_99 for your endevor to build this monstrosity of a gundam from scratch

Model In-Progress / microman/zoid custom
« on: October 04, 2006, 09:53:40 PM »
yet another update
this is pretty much what the head is going to look like I just need to add a little more dry brushing to the back and top of the helmet as well as lighten up the bone color in the face.
I have to add clear red to eyes as the specs i put in look like hell
but the whole armor and claws will have the same type of coloring as well as the zoid body
