Capitalism Corner* / 25% Model Kit Sale
« on: April 26, 2008, 07:24:45 AM »
Anime Discount DVD is having a 25% Model Discount Sale. What does that mean to us? Slight cheaper prices from US vendors and lower shipping cost if ordering in the US. So if you are still looking for that PG Strike Rouge and Skygrasper combo here you go. Now, I have bought items, not models, from Anime Discount DVD before my only gripe was shipping seemed a little slow.

I'm loving the bulk you adding to this kit. If you do not mind I'd like to reference your Hi-Nu when I start mine. Are you going to leave the collar armor stock? I was planning on modding mine as well. I had also planning on reshaping the shin armor with a more anglular look.

Sweet, thanks for the update Ako. This time when my order of trusters come in, I'll put them up right away so my cat doen't chew open the bag and use the thruster as a play toy.....
(personal reminder, I still have one more K thruster to find)

Assembly/Scratchbuilding / Clear Resin Recommendations

Speaking about vacume chambers, I was thinking of using an old blank CD case with a hole at the bottom for one.

I wanted to post it in a thread of common thinks that can in model and scratch building.
Like zip ties could be used as vents for thrusters.

Capitalism Corner* / Replacement Parts: Where and How to Order Them

Has anyone ordered whole runnners from HLJ and how much did the runners cost? And, has anyone ordered from Bandai Japan and could you order individual pieces?

mtomczek: Thanks for picking this mag up for me... it's fantastic! Lots of great stuff in it aside from the Primrose parts. Armored Core, AoZ goodness, UC Hardgraph detail-up tips, etc... Great issue!

You are most welcome!

Now you need to mail me some of those famous cheesesteaks I hear about :)

Pittsburgh makes great cheesesteak, but Philly is famous for them. If you want something really good and unique from the 'Burgh, I hear nothing but excellent things about Primanti Brothers.

On topic....
I thought about getting a subscription to DH and the cheapest price I saw them for is $9 an issue w/ a subscription of three months or more.  I just did not want to commit myself to a subscription that I may like every other mag or get parts for model that I may not (curse you double negative) have.

PS. Ficht or Fulcy, does Primanti Brothers make a Thanksgiving sandwich?

Congradulations to all the winners and people who were nominated. ^_^

The fastest contest we ever had was one month--and that was only SD's... I'm thinking a week would probably kill most of us...

I still have my SD Aegis primered on skewers.... :P

With all the other resin models that could have been used to pull design ideas off of, I think Bandai dropped the ball on the over all design on the new prototype of the Hi-Nu.
In my opinion.....

From possibilities of....

or this w/ this

we get this...

Sometime next Spring, Bandai will release MG Hi-ν Gundam.
Instead of Hajime Katoki, Yutaka Izubuchi will be behind this MG release.

In a related note MG wise, Mg Crossbone X-1 Kai Full Cross will come out on Jan.
It will come with peacock smasher and murasame blaster weapons.

That 1/48 Batwing, in the second image link, would be a cool model to have.

Model Gallery / 1/100 MG Hyaku Shiki (Char's Custom)

Red Comet, the Shiki looks great, I really like the color scheme of the model. Also. the led effect is really cool, it does not look like there is lot of light bleeding trough the seams. The brass tubing that connect to the mesh looks awesome as well.
