Well, HOORAY! The etchings have arrived:

And some of them fitted:

View through the door:

Added an 8" howitzer from a 1/35 scale kit I picked up cheap in a charity shop:

And decided to add a two-part opening hatch in the roof, partly for restocking the weapons, but mainly so there's a way to see all the interior detail:

More soon!

That's really good, it adds so much finesse. The hatch is definitely a good idea since hiding all that would be criminal - can you also get a light in there?

Hoping to get some lighting in it- probably use some flickering LEDs fromelectronic tealights.

Meanwhile, I have started on the hatch:

Closed, and open:

It has been suggested that it should be a three part hatch, to go with the rest of the design: I don't know, two doors seems more practical...

Awesome, the etchings really make it work, and add scale to the otherwise slightly toyish bot

Had a go at a three door hatch:

And open:

Works rather well, and goes with the trilateral symmetry of the whole pice!

:)

As it stands tonight, at rest with all hatches open and the weapons lowered:

And on the march, weapons raised:

Not sure what to do with the extending arm- wrecking ball, claw, morningstar?

(though probably not a sink plunger...)

The extend-o arm should have a wrecking ball morning star that unfolds into a claw.
Obviously.
I do other things, too.

Possibly a bit mundane, but I think a three-clawed gripper would be good on the end of the arm - it matches the three-ness and it'd be good for picking things up and flinging them :)

Three-fingered claw seems to be the way to go!

Meanwhile, some controls and what-not in the upper cabin:

wow, great job on the scratch build.  8) I like the photo etched brass work for the interior.
