So I've recently scored two rather economical Shiki's (one from Fulcy) and I was fiddling around with Photoshop with coloring the linearts.  I have the pair of high and low viz colored up and would like to share it for any comments you might have.  Special Thanks to FF for his wonderful lineart coloring tutorial and Fulcy for the wonderful deal.

As usual, I won't actually starting working on the kits for a long time.  Between graduation and the graduation trip I don't see this happening by September the earliest.

Those look great. So I assume you're doing both schemes then? You'll have fun with some of your masking. I noticed that you plan on masking some of the same areas I did. Those skirts and such were a pain because I painted the white first then masked the front only and painted the blue. You'll have an easier time painting the black/blue first.

Looking forward to these. :)

Wow, I really like the low vis scheme!  Might need to borrow a variation of that for one of my customs (wait, what am I saying, I'm never going to work on a custom! ).

Ha, FF I admit I cheated by looking at your Shiki for some inspiration.  Thanks for the masking tip too, I'll keep that in mind.  I personally like the low viz more, so maybe I'll do a pair of that.  It all depends.

Fulcy feel free to borrow the scheme for whatever you want.  If you want I can email you the psd file to save you all the trouble of making layers and such.

I like both schemes dude... I'd have trouble deciding between the two personally. If you have two, I think you need to make each then :)

Do it

As much as I like the low viz scheme, for some reason I'm drawn towards the high viz scheme. This would be a tough choice for me, so I'm with BA. If you have 2 kits do one of each.

Hi, Major! Those was a very cool looking color scheme!
But I like the low viz ver. It's looks much more realistic as a mecha....

Hope to see your kit soon.

Hi-vis reminds me a lot of L-Gaim.  To be expected, I suppose...

That is very true.  I didn't realize up til now that you've mentioned it.  Must be a sub-conscious thing...L-Gaim is one of my favourites designs.

:rip: resurrecting long-dead thread

So I have a shiki with chrome stripped and ready to go.  I think I'll go for the Zeon scheme.

Major,

I like both color schemes, why not do both since you have 2 Shikis.  Just my 2 cents though.

Peace

Actually I got have 3 shiki's in my pile. Recently got a built one from someone, and used "Easy Off" to strip off the chrome on that.

I think I'll eventually do the low-vis, but it'll be more modded to be more sentinel-esque.  Right now I want to do the Zeon one.

hey major,

cool schemes...
3x shiki's....then why not do 3x schemes...

i actually like the white/black/red scheme...since the shiki was originally designed for ace pilots, low-viz schemes are for rookies...

or maybe if you're opting for just the low-viz scheme, maybe downgrade some parts ala mpt version...

wips please...thanx

For the low-visibility scheme, I don't really think the orange works too well with the blue 9My very humble opnion). I was going to suggest using crimson or ruby red in place of the orange, or using a different shade of grey.

To me, the orange and blue work together to make the model more noticeable (opposite colours), but that's just one man's opinion.

The High visibility scheme looks awesome ( looks like L-Gaim) and the Zeon Scheme looks awesome.
