Started a couple of this 1/4 scale armored alien bust today. So far I just hollowed out behind the clear eye inserts so that I can light it up.

That's a little nerve wracking, seeing you take that large drill to this lovely piece :P

Yeah, did make me wince a couple of times when it looked like you were going to frill through your hand!

Looking forward to seeing this come together, I'm not usually a bust man but I really like this design

More progress. Applied a rough texture to parts of one of the busts to help my eventual organically grown insect-like components look, primed, and started painting. Details and steps with what paints I used on my blog here: http://fichtenfoo.net/blog/tag/the-centurion/

Looking nice! I really like those pipes down the front, they bring a mechanical element into quite an organic design.

Thanks guys. Todays progress ends up hiding a lot of that, but I think it still looks good. Pics later or maybe sooner on the iMech FB page.

Latest progress. Just one color, mottled on over hours of work, but changes sooo much!

Initially I found the model to look vaguely robotic, but that's gone now. It's turning more into a creepy crawly now. It looks great!

So that last colour.... BBQ sauce? :P

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical when you started with the metallic gold coat, but I love the way this is heading. Fantastic paint job.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I guess it does look a little like BBQ in the pics.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard this kind of comment with one of my builds! LOL!

Face is painted black now and aside from the lighting, the paintwork is done. Pics soon!
