Wow that looks great so far, the mise en scene is spectacular. I remember seeing a chopper on a dio a bit like yours, it looked very cool.

I love Patlabor. Your diorama idea is going to be a cool one. I can't wait to see when you finish!

My only advice would be to add more of a action pose to the labors. They seem too low key for your idea. If Griffon is getting the drop on the two Ingrams, he ought to be in a more assault stance. Arms bent and back, elbows in, hands out slightly. Show off those claws. His legs might be splayed out a bit more, and a deeper knee bend for his landing. Maybe even scrape one of the building with his leg.
The Ingram to the left ought to also have a weapon ready to bea, or reaching for it's weapon.
The Ingram to the right ought to have a deeper bend in his legs, and his left arm out and raised more.
The Hummvee is OK, but the scene is Patlabor, so a Special Control Vehicle might look better for the part. At the least, the Humvee needs JSDF markings. The figure standing by the Humvee does not add any emotion to the scene. He's just standing there.

The Huey in my opinion, might be a little too much.

I agree... the poses are a little stiff. However having built these kits, I understand that posing them is a near impossible feat doe to the rubber covers. One solution is to ditch the covers and sculpt fixed-posed ones from milliput, magic sculpt, or apoxy sculpt.

I've built 3 of the patlabor 1/35 kits and I used real fabric covers to replace all the vinyl bits. I bought some cheap action man clothes off e-bay, there a little big but i cut them down.

It is gigantic!   :)
The advantage with 1/35 scale, it is that easy find many characters and vehicles available to this scale

looking good. I envy you for getting your hands on a mg flight type griffon. That is the one patalabor kit that I have to do before I die. The poses are a littel stiff but I do like how the griffon does grab your anttention.

The pic does not show enough justice to the details with the bad lighting, will shoot again tomorrow morning.

Another Update

Running out of time with 5 days remaining till the june 17th submission, I decided to ditch the huey. The humvee had the color scheme similar to the control vehicle, also I found some spare JDSF Markings courtesy of my 1:60 ingrams and probably . I Changed the screws of the ingrams so they can now pose better.

The buildings and streets/ concrete parts need a lot of retouching in paint.
