yeah I saw this on something awful  forums and it still looks damn good. the blue and the gold  go nicely together.

So judging from your above post would you say its better to go flat black, then to the alcad pale gold? Or do the flat black, tamiya gold titanium and then the aclad?

getting the mg hi nu... sure turned out better then the crappy lineart would have you think. other then the overly skinny fuel tanks and the bland funnels I like the kit.

The mg strike noir... meh. I like it its a pretty good design I'm neutral on this one. hope this isn't the 100 kit though.

Holy jumping monkeys is that akatsuki expensive. nice design but 7350 yen? I can get the hi nu for that price.

holy moley thats a lotta weapons. there's like 4 different swords there. Glad I waited to get one. can't wait to pick mine up... once I finish all this other crap I swore I would finish before buying a new kit. I will be picking up the nu as I don't have enough dough to afford resin.

Model Talk / A New Year for Modeling!
« on: January 09, 2007, 10:34:00 PM »
well  lets see.. the kits I plan to this year are:
Finish between now and may( damn you college  why couldn't I take my airbrush with you?)
Mg guncannon- some moddifictions still deciding what exactly to do.
mg crossbone - diorama
mg  hyaku  shiki - added detail mods.

mg gp-02- try to improve the kit. Maybe get a decent pose out of it despite all the negative feedback I've heard about it.
mg griffon aqua type- looking for the wing type, but I got this for 30 bucks so how could I resist?cb
hguc- gelgoog jagger.

mg zeta 2.0.- after that will have the three main mechs from zeta complete.
mg quebely (if I can find a good deal for it, got the zeta bug lately)

Its a pretty ambitious list for me  . I usually only get about 3-4 tops. mostly because I'm so prone to loosing frickin pieces and spending days looking for them.

Im impressed. A very nice conversion. I think the colors are good, I don't mind the gloss.

Anyway what exactly is the beam ribbon made out of. It looks great!

nice figure looking foward to it being done.  Haven't seen many char figures being done.

Man did AUEG get a short end of the stick when it came to uniforms.  the skirts and no arm sleeves bleh... Even though the titans lost the war they won in the uniforms department.

Fack... I've always wanted to go to a modelling convention and display my stuff. But I'm in college and didn't bring any of my completed kits with me, there at home in regina. I may just check it out though, If I can find my way there(Damn toronto's big lol). Oh well... When I get home at Christmas I'll bring some of my stuff so if there's a convention again I could enter.

Model Talk / Model Wishlist (Something stupid for a change)
« on: October 05, 2006, 04:33:26 PM »
well most of the mgs I wanted were mentioned by others. Specifically I want more titan mgs. So many great designs like the gaplant and the hambrabi just waiting to be mgd.

Othe then gundam the model wishlist I would have would be a decent evangelion model for a change. I would like to see an mg eva if that were possible, as the hg's aren't that great and the pg's a overpriced piece of crap. maybe there's a chance with the movies coming out next summer...

there can be only one pg kit- The Nu. I mean  how kickass would that be? Not to mention bandai could make a lot of money with a hi nu conversion kit  Here's hoping...

For filling in the wholes that could mean a bunch. A guntank would be cool, but the zock.... Never was to keen on that design. The kit I really want to see is a Hambrabi one of the coolest titan designs out there.

thanks pu_rplecow for the site. I had trouble finding  reference photos of a minigun. This really helps.

Model In-Progress / Mg Dom
« on: August 13, 2006, 09:49:27 PM »
This is one of the projects I'm working on. Right now I'm focused on getting another scene done, my zaku and Gm diorama. Anyway I was getting bored waiting for celluclay to dry and some parts from rainbow ten to come in so I started working on my dom. Now I orginally planned to work on this when I went to Toronto for university in the fall, I must have been in the mood for modelling or something, but I finished building the kit in one weekend. So now I figure I'll just get this done before I go.

Here's some quick pictures of just the plainly  built kit, no modifications except added some epoxy to fill some annoying gaps on the arms.  like the dom colors so I'l paint it anime colors.

One thing I will do, however, is scratch build a gun for this thing. I always wanted to see a dom holding this gigantic chain gun so starting tommorow I'll be working on that. Here's the look I'm trying to go for.

I really like your color scheme for the metor  and the freedom. I always thought the meteor color scheme was sort of "meh" but you really made it look good.  One quick thing though, you missed a seam line on the camera eye of the metor. Other then that good job!

I don't know why people were dissing your gyan, thats one of the nicest that I've ever seen! That red and black color scheme was an awesome choice. Some guy didn't like it? well screw him. All in all though I'm suprised your hazel didn't win a prize.  By the way I saw that guy's Zaku at COM (he took  kind of a crappy picture) and I could tell it wasn't as good as your stufff

geez the more I see of these pictures the more I want to go to conventions. Least Im moving to Toronto in a month maybe I can join one sometime.  I thought I WAS going to a competition at cnanime this september, but turns out their not having a model competition, even though I have been working frantically trying to get it done before then. Arghh...

Dioramas / making rubble for a diorama
« on: August 03, 2006, 03:16:16 PM »
Hello all I'm working on a diorama to enter a gundam modelling compeition in a month. Im planning to have my a gm and a zaku crashing through a barn.
I've tried making the apperance of stuco by covering some wood with acrylic moddelling paste. It worked pretty well. Heres a picture of the barn

but I've run into a problem. When trying to make the rubble the diorama I at first tried covering some leftover  wood with the paste then smashing it up. It didn't turn out quite right and it doesn't really look like rubble, its to blocky. Anybody have any ideas how to make some decent looking rubble?

Wow the guns are a nice touch and some niche shading. Good work.

You took these pictuers while yoru wife was giving birth :?  thats a little weird man. Are you sleeping on the couch right now?

Model In-Progress / 1:35 patlabor dio
« on: May 29, 2006, 02:11:09 PM »
looking good. I envy you for getting your hands on a mg flight type griffon. That is the one patalabor kit that I have to do before I die. The poses are a littel stiff but I do like how the griffon does grab your anttention.

that is by far one of the best paint jobs I have ever seen for a GP01 fantastic job. Like the diorama to by the way

very very nice job. I really have to pick up the astray since its one of the few seed designs I can actually stand.   Those claws make me think of wolverine from the x-men. Seriously though this mech looks really bad ass nice job on the blades though the zaku shoulder looks inda weird on it IMO,. I can just imagine this mech sneaking up on some poor grunt and then slice

good stuff the mods you made worked well. I like the yellow, IMO it looks better then the red the freedom usually haves. the pose you have is bad ass.  I really got to find out how to do some mobility mods, and mods in general.

Model Gallery / "The Last Gate" Diorama for the Malaysia BAKAC Com
« on: November 15, 2005, 12:59:27 PM »
holy moly... this is awesome. If I could make a dio like that I would die a happy man. the weathering, the details hell  just the  guncannon, it all  screams cool. You really nailed the dynamic poses with this one, it actually makes me  want to root for the feddie forces! all the nice touches like the little help me guy really completes it.

Your way to hard on your own work! if your still learning, then I must be in preschool when it comes to my moddelling ability. I find it funny how you call FF master. IMO  the student may become the master pretty quick.
